Case Study # 6 – New Formula Development

Developing a formula for a women’s health product

Formula development of a product targeted to many elements of women’s health, including tiredness and exhaustion, mood elevation, increased energy, and discomfort associated with premenstrual syndrome or menopause.

The composition is based on 5 potential active ingredients combined with one dominant cannabinoid to activate specific receptors of the endocannabinoid system, directly or as allosteric modulators. Various optional inactive ingredients were also examined. All ingredients are approved by the US FDA as GRAS (generally recognized as safe).

It is important to note that unlike synthetic drugs, the active ingredient of phytopharmaceuticals is not a single substance but the whole plant extract.
